One thing I can guarantee about your wedding day is that it is intense, and then, before you know it, it’s over. In most cases the day is jam packed with activities from early morning until the last dance and often times, there isn’t a moment to just breathe and celebrate together the importance of this day for you and your partner. It may sound silly, but when you create your timeline with your planner, schedule a few minutes for just the two of you. I have seen this done many ways over the years and each time it has been such a special moment for the couple. Some ways you may want to incorporate this time into your day are:
- Consider planning a first look prior to the ceremony. The moment you see one another for the first time on your wedding day is incredibly emotional, and often times that emotion is lost in the fact that 200 of your closest friends and family are watching it unfold.
- Book transportation for just the two of you from the ceremony to the reception site. This will give you a few minutes to reflect on the beauty of the ceremony and calm one another’s nerves before the excitement of the reception.
- Plan a private last dance. Have your planner and DJ move your guests outside for the grand exit and take one last opportunity to wrap yourself in each other’s arms and reflect on what a beautiful day you shared as the start to your married life together.
